Whale_Sharks
Whale Sharks are fish, like all sharks - but they are filter feeders, like whales.
These Whale Sharks congregate off the coast around the time when tuna release their eggs. These small eggs - like the size of caviar eggs - float on the surface. Whale Sharks take the egg-rich water in through their large mouths, and their specialized filter pads by their gills collect the eggs.
They are the largest known extant fish species. Claims of individuals over 14 m (46 ft) long and weighing at least 30 tons are not uncommon - a gentle giant indeed!
